A&K Aspire Academy

The qualifications on offer provide learners with a challenging but unique opportunity to study in a sporting context, this will give them a chance to both gain employment in the football industry or have the transferable skills to support them on their chosen career pathway.

Learners will do a minimum of 16 hours a week on the programme and will complete a level 1 or 2 in BTEC qualification this is dependant on grades previous gained, plus several smaller qualifications and if needed by the student English and Maths Functional skills. This is a 1-year course in which learners will study and train.

This course will lead to employment within the Sports and Leisure industry, progression to the Level 2 Diploma in Sport or a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport.

BTEC qualification level 1or 2

Students will need to have a passion for sport and an interest in exploring the different areas of this including health, fitness, performance, coaching, sports science and events. They will learn about different aspects of the sports industry, from fitness training, understanding how the body works and preparing to coach a range of sports activities and organise sports events.

The 3 day first aid at work course

This course is designed for learners working in all environments that the learner may encounter in their working life.

This course ensures that learners are equipped to deal with any injuries or illnesses in the workplace that requires the attention of a First Aider. With the course covering topics such as CPR, and

medical conditions such as Diabetes and Asthma.

Mental Health First-Aider course

A mental health first-aider is needed when someone is struggling to cope with an ongoing mental health condition or when they are going through a mental health episode or crisis.

Their role is to spot signs of potential problems, assess possible risks to the person and others, listen without judgement, give assistance, or encourage the person to seek further help.

Dependent on entry level of the student we offer a support function to help students with English and Math's Functional Skill Level 1 or 2.

Nutrition for sport Level 2 Qualification

This qualification is ideal for a wide range of learners who are interested in improving their understanding of nutrition and healthy eating.

It will be particularly relevant for those working, or intending to work, in settings such as sport and recreation, exercise and fitness, hospitality and catering or health care, providing specific skills and

knowledge to support their role in the workplace.
